Lack of a scanner has left my art blog cold and empty. I used to use my digital camera to take pictures for the duration of time but the picture always turns out uneven and since I'm a freaky perfectionist, I want the photos to be taken perfectly at the proper 90 degree angle.
I've gone to Frys and Best Buys to see if there's a simple and small scanner I could purchase within my very tight budget. Not many. I eventually stumbled my way onto Craigslist.org and looked for a scanner in decent condition. Of course, as tradition of Craigslist posts, all the good ones were gone before I could even finish typing out my e-mail.
After about a week of lurking, I found a brand new unopened scanner on sale for $40.00. I thought, "hey that's a good deal." So I looked up the specs on the model and it's decent; far more qualified for anything I probably will ever use it for. The scanner / printer duo's original price is $80.00 and I was able to find them new on Amazon.com for $60.00. I asked the guy to sell it to me for $30.00 and we settled for $35.00 and he would deliver it to me at the Campbell Pruneyard. I didn't want to ask him to knock it down to $20.00 or $25.00 cause that seemed too far-fetched. But maybe I should have and I could have gotten it for $30.00. He got it for free with a large computer purchase but he already had a scanner/printer so he wanted to sell it for some cash. I wish I weren't so timid when it came to these things.
On the bright side, I still got a scanner for a decent price. I haven't yet hooked it up because I have no space on my desk! So, my next quest is to find a decent sized desk to fit my new computer and new scanner!
